Caversham’s AC squad were able to take some positives from their visit to play at Oxford University in the SCF’s Handicap League’s North Division yesterday.
On the plus side, their 3-1 defeat in the Parks was a marginal improvement on their previous performance, a 4-0 thrashing at Phyllis Court.
And they were treated to a meal of fish and chips — washed down with a pint — after the match.
Facing a team including three high-handicappers, only Charles Briggs came away with a victory for Caversham.
