First with the news… Charles NOT crowned at the weekend!

Club chairman Charles Briggs was pipped in the semi-final of the Charity One-Ball final at Surbiton, Surrey.

Our man had made an excellent start to the tournament, winning six of his seven block games.

But in the semi he came up against a minus six handicapper, Joel Taylor, of Roehampton, and despite having six and a half bisques, Charles (pictured right) went down 13-11.

Taylor went on to win the tournament for the second time in three years.

The tournament raised around £8,000 for this year’s charity, the UNHCR.
