Caversham’s membership rates are to stay the same for 2023. The club’s annual general meeting decided last night that the cost of senior membership will again be £110.

At a time when the cost of everything else is sky-rocketing, members at the AGM followed the committee’s recommendation not to raise the fees.
Before stepping down at the end of his four-year stint as club treasurer, Brian Jamieson told the meeting: “The club’s finances are in a healthy state.
“Overall we made a surplus of around £1,000 on the past year. So we are able to set aside some money against possible future capital expenditure on new equipment.”
Brian praised the “goodwill and generosity” of those members who had made donations to the club, which enabled him to recommend keeping subscriptions at the present level.
Membership secretary Bill Runacre will be writing to all members in the next few days reminding them that subs fall due from April 1st.
