Pam Briggs and Stella Kendall are Caversham’s 2022 GC Doubles Cup winners.
After a cliffhanger of a tussle — which started five days previously — they pipped Gareth Hobby and Jane Probitts 4-7, 7-6 7-6 this morning to take the title.
The best-of-three final had started on Monday evening, with Gareth and Jane taking the opening game.
But their opponents fought back to level at the ‘golden hoop’ just before nightfall set in and the players were forced to abandon the lawn.
Today’s decider also went to the 13th hoop before Pam and Stella clinched it.
