Saturday’s Open Day at Albert Road was voted a big success by all who attended.
The good turn-out for the hastily-organised event — part of National Croquet Week — was blessed by hours of warm sunshine.
The weather is always a vital factor to events such as this; we got lucky as 24 hours later the heavens opened.

“The whole day went much better than expected,” said organiser Judy Reddy, “and I have never seen the lawn looking so good.”
Among those attending were the club’s two most recently joined members, Wyn Bartley and Malcolm Kirby.
And among the four prospective new members who came to see how the club operates was a lady who found out about the event from our new-look website.
Many thanks to those involved in the organisation. Here’s looking forward to Members’ Day on August 27th!
