Croquet opportunities for those who can afford the petrol

Chris Pegrum

For players who don’t mind travelling for their competitive croquet there will be plenty of opportunities again this summer.

Entries are now being invited for the Armada One-Ball Championship at Winchester on June 14th. Caversham, of course, have bragging rights over this prestigious event as our AC champ Chris Pegrum won it the last time it was staged.

For those who prefer GC doubles, a big attraction will be the Solstice tournament at Hamptworth, Wiltshire, on June 11th. This event is restricted to pairs with a joint handicap of 6+.

For the really big ones the Croquet Association have just announced details of their All England Handicap competitions for 2022.

Club secretary John Wakeford can provide all the details of how to sign up, the fees and closing dates for entries etc.
